‘Agatha All Along’ is the latest addition to the MCU. The show focuses on a magical and supernatural side of the cinematic universe, something which was barely touched upon in previous projects.

The show also introduced plenty of characters and mysteries, and one of the new additions is the protection witch – Alice Wu.

Alice’s backstory is kind of tragic. Her mother was a witch suffering from an old curse that threatened to derail both her life and the life of her daughter. Throughout her life, Alice was affected by the said curse.

Lorna was killed in a hotel fire, from the effects of the curse, everyone mistakenly believed that she was killed on “The Witches Road.” Alice never exactly believed in magic, but she was aware that something had to be going on since she was seemingly unable to hold down a job.

In fact, Alice loses her job during the second episode of ‘Agatha All Along’ when Agatha attempts to recruit her into her coven. Alice was at the time working as the mall’s security guard and before that she was working as a police officer in Westview.

Two days ago, a fan account posted an interesting theory about how Alice possibly lost her police job not due to the effects of the curse, but due to the effects of Teen’s sigil placed on him by Lilia Calderu:

Being unable to write down the basic description and the name of the victim wouldn’t bode well for pretty much anybody, and it’s understandable that Alice would lose her job due to being unable to perform well.

This theory is seemingly correct since Jac Shaffer ‘Agatha All Along’ showrunner admitted that there is a deleted scene that features Alice Wu being unable to pen down details regarding Billy Kaplan:

No, no, no, no, it’s really complicated! And there is a scene that we cut for pacing, where Alice is interviewing Mr. Kaplan, and he keeps saying Billy’s name, and she can’t hear it. She keeps trying to write it down, she can’t hear it.

And it’s a great scene. They’re terrific performers. It’s a great scene. It’s just one of the many moments of like, it’s a pacing thing, and this is, it’s sort of a double beat. She also doesn’t really see his face, because he’s covered in blood and he’s in the backseat. And then later, Billy does know Jen because he knows her work, and her reputation, and her products.

If the fan theory proves correct it’s easy to imagine why Alice thought nothing of this when she got fired since she was used to having her own life ruined by forces outside of her control.

Unfortunately, we will never get to hear Alice’s perspective on the Teen considering that the character has been killed in Episode 5. In fact, the death of Alice Wu was one of the things that pushed the Teen into revealing his powers and his true identity.

Alice wasn’t killed by a curse, however, as she managed to get rid of it during Episode 4. She was killed by Agatha who accidentally (or purposely) drained her of her life force when Alice attempted to protect her from Evanora Harkness.
