Marvel Cancels Its Sole TV Show with a Perfect 100% Rotten Tomatoes Score

Marvel Studios, typically hesitant to officially cancel shows and often labeling them as “limited series,” has taken the unusual step of ending a beloved series. This critically acclaimed show, praised for its engaging storytelling and confirmed by storyboard artist Gabi Rode’s comments, is facing an early conclusion.

Despite having a flawless 100% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, it will not return for a third season. The show in question is Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur.

The news emerged on X/Twitter, with user @owlphibia sharing insights that were later supported by Rode.

He expressed disappointment over the long-standing knowledge of the show’s fate among Disney staff and noted that the production area had been empty for over a year, suggesting that the decision had been made quite some time ago but is only now being revealed.

The animated series, beloved by both young audiences and critics, follows the adventures of 13-year-old Lunella Lafayette in New York City. Similar to a teenage Shuri from Black Panther, Lunella teams up with Devil Dinosaur after he steps out of a mysterious portal.

Together, they embark on various missions to battle quirky villains, filling a unique niche in the Marvel Cinematic Universe that ties back to the iconic Avengers.

Featuring voices such as Diamond White as Lunella and Fred Tatasciore as her dinosaur sidekick, the series also boasted appearances from Alison Brie, Jennifer Hudson, Maya Hawke, Daveed Diggs, and Wesley Snipes.

Additionally, Laurence Fishburne returned to voice Ben Foster, linking the animated storylines to the live-action world of Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Fans can take comfort in knowing that the remaining 10 episodes, set to air in early 2025, are crafted to provide a satisfying conclusion without leaving any narrative threads unresolved.
