Lilia Calderu’s Bizarre Ability in ‘Agatha All Along’ Suggests Possible Connection to Loki

The latest episode of ‘Agatha All Along’ presented the coven – or rather what’s left of it – with a new challenge. This week’s trial was Trial of Time, and as a divination witch, it was Lilia’s time to shine.

Lilia Calderu has so far been a character in the background, despite teasing plenty of important things through her ominous hints. Her putting sigil on Billy Kaplan also possibly had consequences in other MCU projects.

The latest episode offered some glimpses into Lilia’s past. We know that she was a young witch centuries ago in Sicily. Her Maestra tried to teach her how to shape and mold her talents, but Lilia always struggled with it.

We learned that Lilia suffered from something quite unique – she has been living her life out time loop. The condition first manifested itself when she was a girl but she decided to ignore it until it eventually went away and manifested again – when she met Billy Kaplan during his Bar Mitzvah and saw his future.

How does this work anyway? Well, Lilia Calderu is able to jump through time and space but she doesn’t remember these encounters. Instead, she is left with bits and pieces of information that she needs to piece together herself.

This is why Lilia was able to “warn” Alice not to help Agatha during Agatha’s trial – she knew that it would lead to Alice’s death but did not know how to communicate it so her warning came in pieces in two several episodes “Alice don’t” and “try to save Agatha.”

This time slipping is an unusual phenomenon in the MCU but it’s far from unique. If you can recall this is a condition similar to Loki’s. In season 2 of ‘Loki,’ Loki is randomly transported across space and time, following his failed attempt to fix the Time Loom.

The solution to Loki’s problem was the put the condition under control and ultimately replace the Time Loom and He Who Remains as the God of Time and stories.

Lilia also discovered how to put her condition under control – she needed to accept her death. Lilia has been a divination witch for several centuries, she has seen all of it but was always seemingly struggling with accepting the moment of her death.

During the trial, she realized that Rio Vidal was Lady Death and that her time was near. This gave her strength to sacrifice herself to destroy Salem’s Seven, and give the coven the opportunity to proceed to the next trial – and we know that the next Trial will be related to Billy.

Lilia Calderu and Loki sharing these abilities might suggest that there’s a possible connection between them and the larger multiverse – and this might not be the end of the road for Lilia.
