It’s been a while since we last discussed The Acolyte, but today we’re focusing on an intriguing aspect of the series that fans have largely praised.

What are we talking about? Darth Plagueis. This legendary Sith Lord made his appearance in The Acolyte, and while his cameo hinted at a possible second season, it appears we’ll have to wait for another project to see him again.

In the meantime, a concept artist involved with the show has shared some early artwork for Plagueis. Some of these images were used in the series, while others may have been intended for the second season. It’s a real disappointment that this captivating concept art won’t be brought to life.

Concept artist Saby Menyhei has contributed to several high-profile projects, including The Last of Us, Tenet, Ant-Man, Rogue One, and most recently, The Acolyte. One of his projects included the design of Darth Plagueis, and he has just unveiled some additional concept art for the series:

The author of the image has asked us to remove it.

Whether you enjoyed the show or not, the concept art is undeniably impressive. Given the fan reactions to Plagueis’ cameo, it’s clear that everyone would have appreciated this design. It’s unfortunate that we won’t get to see it come to life, especially since there are no upcoming Star Wars projects announced that could include Plagueis in the storyline. This is certainly a missed opportunity for the community.

How have fans responded to this artwork? Here are some comments (and yes, everyone agrees that it’s fantastic):
