How a Heartbreaking Twist in ‘Spider-Man 4’ Could Bring Knull into the MCU

‘Venom: The Last Dance’ got released just a few days ago. The movie concluded ‘Venom’ trilogy and served as Hardy’s farewell to the franchise. With the way the movie ended, the story pretty much feels complete with some other character ready to carry the franchise further – most notable among them Knull – the King in Black.

I gotta be honest with you, I did not like the way in which the movie showcased Knull, but I understand that this was supposed to be just a taste of the King in Black. The movie’s director and writer confirmed that there are bigger things to come for Knull and he was never supposed to be the main villain of ‘The Last Dance.’

Now obviously, Knull’s story is set to continue in SSU, with some theories stating that Sinister Six are going to fight him, some really loud rumors also claim that Knull will cross over to the MCU, being the main villain of the upcoming ‘Spider-Man 4.’

Obviously, Knull has enough juice to make the jump to an alternate universe, the real problem is setting the story correctly so it doesn’t feel weird or forced.

Austin Medeiros recently shared an interesting theory on X, this is not the first time that this theory has been proposed but now in light of ‘Venom 3’ release it’s more important than ever.

Peter Parker dies at the end of the movie and then joins with the Venom symbiote that was left in the MCU, resurrecting Peter.

This will create a codex and let Knull know about another way to escape. It could also set up a big “King in Black” event movie.

The theory could work, but you have to watch the movie to understand why the Codex is important, and why Peter needs to die for the Codex to be created.

The theory had a solid reception, but like with most theories there are some problems with it. Making Knull Spider-Man’s next big enemy would mean that we won’t see a street-level installment for a while.

The second problem is that it seems unlikely that Knull will be shoehorned as the villain when ‘Spider-Man 4’ is supposed to come between ‘Doomsday’ and ‘Secret Wars’ meaning that the movie has to have something important for those two events.

Third is, well, Knull should get a proper buildup in the MCU, even if this story is planned it would be better to first conclude the multiverse Saga and then introduce Knull to the mix.
