Kelly Macdonald Takes on a Massive Role in HBO’s ‘Lanterns’

Kelly Macdonald, known for her versatile roles in Boardwalk Empire and The Radleys, is set to star as Sheriff Kerry in HBO’s upcoming series Lanterns. She steps into the DC Universe as a dedicated sheriff who prioritizes her family and community above all else.

With a complex past that fuels her resilience, Sheriff Kerry becomes crucial as her town faces hidden dangers. Macdonald joins a cast featuring Aaron Pierre as John Stewart and Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan.

Lanterns follows these Green Lantern “space cops” who find themselves pulled into a dark and mysterious murder case on Earth, blending cosmic responsibility with earthly suspense. The series draws from iconic Green Lantern comics, with creative direction from Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King.
