Whatever you think of the series as a whole, Agatha All Along was a huge success, and the numbers back that up. Beyond its fantastic plot, the show continued the story that began in WandaVision and highlighted some standout characters.
One of the most memorable moments was the bond between Billy and Agatha, with Billy emerging as a fan-favorite character. Although it wasn’t a huge surprise when he was revealed to be Wiccan, as many fans had predicted, he still remained one of the best parts of the series.
Now that the series (or season, depending on your view) has ended, Joe Locke, who played Billy, shared his thoughts on the final episode twist. Like many fans, he was also surprised by the reveal.
In the show, Agatha took a revealing journey along the Witches’ Road, which exposed her powers, her dark nature, and much of her life’s actions—or so it seemed. After the memorable kiss between Agatha and Rio that closes the series, Agatha returns as a spirit to mentor Wiccan. But that’s not the twist we’re talking about.
As it turns out, the Witches’ Road wasn’t real at first; it was something Agatha and her late son invented to pass the time. Agatha later used it as a trap, luring witches there to steal their powers, which was her plan for the makeshift coven in the series.
However, Wiccan, with his immense powers, made the Witches’ Road real—including everything that happened there. This means he was, directly or indirectly, responsible for the deaths of Sharon Hart, Lilia Calderu, and Alice Wu-Gulliver.
With the series now over, actor Joe Locke recently discussed that big twist on a podcast. Since he’s been open about his views on the show, here’s what he had to say:
I was like audibly gasped, like really giddy, because I know it’s such a cool twist and makes everything make so much sense. It also shows the extent of Billy’s powers and how he’s so much like his mother, even subconsciously.

The twist was truly something special—definitely a gasp-worthy moment—so it’s easy to understand Locke’s reaction to the series finale. It also shows just how much effort went into creating Agatha All Along, and it certainly paid off.
