It’s almost here. The popular Dark Horse Comic, Umbrella Academy is near completion and set to debut February 15, 2019 on Netflix. Fans, including this one, have spent the last year patiently awaiting something from the show. Pictures. A trailer. A media leak. Something.
Well, we finally have something.
Three photos from the show have been released into the world. While they won’t blow your mind away, they are a start.
The three photos depict Sir Reginald Hargreeves and his adoptive children. The image shows the children as they look on and watch Reginald pour ashes inside the grounds of the academy. The second image details a couple of cast members standing inside a hallway, and the third gives the best look at the children as they gather around a table.
That’s not all
Netflix also unleashed seven posters for the movie. Each poster is responsible for beautifully displaying one of the seven children. You can find them below.
The Umbrella Academy was a smash hit for Dark Horse. It breathed a breath of fresh air into a stalling community. It’s success and “out of the box thinking” won the book an Eisner Award in 2008 for Best Finite/Limited Series.
The Umbrella Academy follows the exploits of Reginald Hargreeves and his adoptive children. The adoptive children, each with super powers are trained to defend the world from certain danger. Things become disjointed between the seven when the group set out to investigate the death of their father.
The Umbrella Academy was created by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. Since it’s creation, the series has found its way into the hearts of many across the globe. Umbrella Academy on Netflix stands to be one of the best when it launches and may lead to more Dark Horse created television shows.
Cheers,
Joel
