Bad News for Captain Britain Fans as New Rumors Reveal His MCU Future

For years, fans have been speculating about Captain Britain’s appearance in the MCU. Henry Cavill seems to be a fan favorite to take on the role, but so far, Kevin Feige has not even mentioned whether we will see Brian Braddock in the MCU.

Now, the latest rumors are out, and it seems that MCU fans will have to wait a bit longer for Captain Britain’s MCU appearance. Namely, Marvel first wants to finish its Multiverse Saga with ‘Avengers: Secret Wars’ by using already introduced (and officially announced) characters before moving on (mutants, for example).

Alex Perez did a Q&A where he talked about the latest rumors surrounding Captain Britain:

RedGyarados2010: Hi Alex! Will Captain Britain and his multiversal lore be introduced into the MCU?

Alex Perez: At this point, I haven’t heard anything about him or the Corps being introduced for the Multiverse Saga. And it’s kind of getting late to introduce them at this point in the game. So odds are, they probably won’t be introduced for the Multiverse Saga. But I’ll tell you this. I have heard rumors that they want to introduce Captain Britain later on in the next saga of the MCU, and the reason why is because they are waiting for Mutants to come into play.

While we’re on the subject of Britain, there’s a rumor I heard about a particular storyline they want to continue, primarily across the pond, which ties into Olivia Colman’s Sonya and Emilia Clarke’s G’iah from Secret Invasion. It may take a while, but they want to do right by these characters. But that’s for a story way down the line.

So, it seems that we will have to wait a few more years until we see Captain Britain (and hopefully Henry Cavill :)) in the MCU.

For those unfamiliar with the character, Dr. Brian Braddock, Ph.D a.k.a. Captain Britain was the champion of the British Isles and its peoples. Endowed with mystical powers by the Amulet of Right given to him by the legendary sorcerer Merlyn and his daughter Roma.

He was assigned to be the protector of Earth-616 for the Captain Britain Corps an interdimensional organization who guard the Omniverse, powered by energies from the Otherworld, a realm created from the collective consciousness and will of the British People.
