‘Agatha All Along’ is the latest MCU release, exploring relatively uncharted territory related to witchcraft and the occult. Despite focusing on relatively unknown characters with the exception of Wiccan, the show was a massive success for Marvel Studios, something that the Head of Marvel Television & Streaming recently confirmed.
The show had solid viewership, was the cheapest production ever due to relying on practical effects, and had the highest retention rate when it comes to viewers.
Third-party analytics confirmed as much, well at least when it comes to viewership rate. Nielsen Top 10 charts which are known to be among the highly accurate once again placed ‘Agatha All Along’ in the Top 10 when it comes to original streaming.
‘Agatha All Along’ continues its strong performance on the Nielsen Originals chart, climbing from 310 million minutes viewed during Oct. 7–13 to 410 million minutes viewed the following week, Oct. 14–20.
This is the show’s second placement in a row and the third placement overall. Data from other sites like Variety’s Luminate also placed the show on the “most-watched” charts for roughly the same time period.
As far as Max’s ‘The Penguin’ goes, the show did not place this week, and despite SambaTV ranking the show as number one according to their data for six weeks in a row, the show has been strangely absent from Nielsen charts.
Still, when it comes to the show we do have some fresh official data. ‘The Penguin’ finale drew 2.1 million U.S. viewers across HBO and Max, marking a new audience high. This is a 50% increase from its debut viewership, according to Warner Bros. Discovery, though premiere numbers were not disclosed.
November 10 was the series’ biggest day on Max in the U.S., marking its best week both domestically and globally as viewers caught up before the finale. Globally, ‘The Penguin’ is the third most-watched HBO or Max debut season, behind ‘The House of the Dragon’ and ‘The Last of Us.’
