Live-Action Miles Morales Could Debut in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe First According to Most Recent Reports

Miles Morales is definitely one of the most interesting fictional characters in the last few years. In large part due to the massive success of his animated Spider-Verse franchise. The threequel is currently in the works, and while we wait for that part of his story to conclude, fans have been rather loud regarding Miles’ future in live-action.

Recently, during Brazil’s D23 Marvel Studios Head Kevin Feige hinted that Miles will be incorporated into the MCU after the release of his third movie:

He’ll be in the third ‘Spider-Verse’, and I’m hoping that shortly after that, we can introduce him to the MCU in a live-action format,

Now an industry insider with a reliable track record, Alex Perez brought forward several potential ideas that have been reportedly discussed. During his November Q&A Perez discussed the different versions of Miles Morales and his future in various media.

He explained that the direction of Miles’ story depends on which version you’re referring to—animated, video game, or live-action.

In the animated universe, Miles’ story is nearing its end, but there may be more versions of him in the multiverse. In the ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ video game series, Miles is set up to be a major character, and players might control him for part of the game before switching to Peter Parker.

Perez also talks about the possibility of Miles appearing in live-action, either in his own movie in Sony’s universe or in the MCU, where he might eventually take over the Spider-Man role from Tom Holland’s character. For now, though, both Spider-Men might team up in upcoming films.

It really all depends on which version you’re talking about. Like, do you mean the animated one? The video game one? The potential live-action one? Animated-wise, we’re about to see the end of Miles’ story, and it’s kind of exciting because it’s an infinite multiverse out there, but so far, the most variants we’ve seen are of Peter Parker.

Sure, there have been a lot of different characters and iterations, but most are a variation of Peter Parker. Just makes you think, there’s got to be more than one Miles Morales out there, right? And this sort of ties into the rest of them. But more on them later.

Miles’ story in the Marvel’s Spider-Man video game franchise has him set up as the lead. It would come as no surprise to me if we were to play as Miles for a good chunk of the game at first before getting to play as Peter later on.

As for the live-action one, there have been several ideas like having his own solo movie set up in the Sony-verse to incorporating him in the MCU during this upcoming trilogy of Spidey films so he can eventually take over the mantle for Tom Holland when his time as Spider-Man is up, but while that’s still being worked out, the idea is that they would like for them to team up. 

Regarding his potential team with Holland’s Spider-Man, this is something that Holland himself discussed a few weeks ago. Holland stated that he would love to do for Miles what Iron Man has done for him:

If I would be lucky enough to somehow bring Miles Morales into my Spider-Man universe and into the MCU, Id love to do for a young kid what [Robert] Downey [Jr.] did for me.
