Two weeks ago, news broke out that Lucasfilm has made a deal with Simon Kinberg to create a trilogy of Star Wars movies. Kinberg will write and produce the films alongside Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy.
Deadline reported these films might be episodes 10-12 of the Skywalker Saga, which started with George Lucas’s first Star Wars movie in 1977—a film that, along with Jaws by Steven Spielberg, changed blockbuster movies forever.
Furthermore, Jeff Sneider sided with Deadline on that, saying, “I’m inclined to side with Deadline on this one, as I’m willing to bet that these three films will be positioned as Episodes X, XI, and XII.”
He also added that Daisy Ridley’s Rey will return as a key character: “I suspect it’s because I’m hearing that Daisy Ridley will come back for these new Star Wars movies, and her Rey “will be positioned as the Obi-Wan of the new trilogy.”
Now, the most recent Star Wars rumors are coming from scooper MyTimeToShineHello. She claims that Henry Cavill is in talks with Disney and Lucasfilm about joining the franchise.
A long, long time ago, Henry Cavill actually expressed his interest in joining the Star Wars universe and revealed what it would take to sign the contract:
I am a fan of them. I would have to read a script and speak to a director before I could possibly say if I’d be interested in being a movie it’s not as simple as you know. Yes, it’d be fun and ideal but what if the script sucks…you’ve got to keep your fingers crossed that it works.

Furthermore, in an 8 year long Instagram Post, Cavill expressed his interest in a Star Wars role again:
Considering that Henry is clearly a Star Wars fan, followed by these most recent rumors, it won’t be that big of a surprise if we see Cavill in a galaxy far, far away after all!
