Marvel’s Epic Black Panther vs. Predator Battle Ends with Shocking Twist, Teasing the Future Storylines in the Most Satisfying Way

After Disney bought Fox Studios in 2019, Marvel became the new home for all Predator and Alien comics. While it hasn’t been confirmed if Marvel’s ‘Predator’ comics are part of the official Marvel Universe, they do make for some really interesting storylines.

In the four-issue ‘Predator vs. Black Panther’ series, written by Benjamin Percy with artists Chris Allen, Sean Hill, and Lee Ferguson, Wakanda’s warriors face off against a Yautja clan of alien hunters.

The Yautja are hunting for Vibranium, known as Godmetal, which is Wakanda’s most valuable resource. The clash turns Wakanda into a battleground as the Yautja search for the precious metal that King T’Challa and his ancestors have protected for centuries.

The mostly even fight finally came to an end with ‘Predator Vs. Black Panther’ #4, it wrapped up in a satisfying way while teasing a crossover with Spider-Man.

As the Yautja came closer to pillaging all Vibranium from the mines T’Challa sought advice from his grandfather, Azzuri the Wise, who revealed that Wakanda had fought the Yautja decades ago.

Many Wakandans died defending Vibranium, and the survivors used the Yautja’s advanced technology to create a shield around Wakanda. Azzuri, seen as an isolationist, had isolated the nation to protect it from all kinds of threats, including these predators.

He warned T’Challa that if the Yautja succeeded, Wakanda would be destroyed. T’Challa, along with the Dora Milaje and War Dogs, tracked the hunters to the mines, where the Yautja unleashed an army of Predators in Vibranium armor.

Black Panther, with Okoye and Akili, led his warriors to fight the Yautja, who were killing a War Dog. Meanwhile, Shuri sent a distress signal, which Falcon answered, and they flew into action. Shuri hacked the Yautja’s technology while her brother went into the mines beneath Wakanda’s Great Mound.

The Yautja killed Akili and brutally attacked the Dora Milaje, using their weapons to decapitate them. Okoye survived and wounded one Predator with her Vibranium spear. Black Panther then fought his way to the leader of the Yautja, the one with the red scar.

Black Panther and the Yautja removed their armor and fought each other directly, using spears as tradition required. T’Challa pinned the Yautja and held his Vibranium spear to his throat, demanding he yield. However, remembering past disgrace from his father and brother, the Yautja attacked T’Challa, using wrist blades to slash at him.

The battle ultimately ended in a standstill between T’Challa and the Yautja. The Predators and Wakandans were evenly matched, but the Yautja took the Vibranium they came for, promising to return stronger for a rematch.

Okoye found the injured T’Challa while Shuri and Falcon intercepted the Yautja’s ship. Shuri planted a bomb on the ship, destroying the Yautja and his stolen Vibranium. The explosion left nothing behind but the Vibranium.

Far away, the Predator King and his son received a warning about the Vibranium, which they needed to improve their weapons.

This sets the stage for ‘Predator vs. Spider-Man’ #1, coming in 2025.
