When James Gunn and Peter Safran took over the reins of DC Studios they announced a long slate of planned projects. These projects spanned both animation and live-action, TV shows and movies alike.

Besides those projects that are currently in development, new subsequent projects have been announced like Dynamic Duo, and Teen Titans, and some projects are currently only rumored, like the Clayface movie.

Daniel Richtman, a popular industry insider recently posted a new round of leaks on his private Patreon account and most of them are related to “lesser-known” projects within the DCU.

Now let’s start with that Bane & Deathstroke movie. A few weeks back it was announced that DC Studios is developing a live-action movie that will focus on 2 notable villains, Bane and Deathstroke. The script is by Matthew Orton but no director has been attached so far.

Not much is known about the movie at this point, and so we don’t even know whether it takes place in the DCU or some other cinematic universe under the DC umbrella, like Batman Epic Crime Saga for example.

Richtman now reports that the movie will indeed be set within the DCU, which opens up a range of interesting possibilities.

It’s unknown whether that movie is connected to Joe Manganiello’s movie. Joe Manganiello wrote his own ‘Deathstroke’ screenplay, which caught some interest from Warner Bros. before the studio decided to reboot the DC Universe. After almost a decade, Manganiello revealed that James Gunn encouraged him to move on from the project.

Before that, DC made one last attempt to revisit older cinematic universes, suggesting they might explore them later. Manganiello explained that Jim Lee from DC Comics wanted him to turn his screenplay into a graphic novel, but there was no guarantee he could stay involved if it gained attention.

Eventually, James Gunn advised him to let it go.

The last scoop is related to Gorilla Grodd. According to the insider, the notable Flash villain will play a big role in the DCU.
