When James Gunn and Peter Safran took charge of DC Studios, they revealed many upcoming projects, including both animated and live-action TV shows and movies.
In addition to the projects already in development, new ones like ‘Dynamic Duo’ and ‘Teen Titans’ have been announced, while some, like the rumored ‘Clayface’ movie, are still uncertain.
Recently, insider Daniel Richtman shared some new leaks on his private Patreon, mostly about lesser-known projects in the DCU.
According to Richtman DC Studios is moving forward with a movie focusing on Clayface. The movie has been rumored for quite some time, but unlike Teen Titans projects, it was never officially confirmed.
Following Richtman’s scoop, a well-known insider known as Apocalyptic Horseman on X shared the full story behind the scoop, and it’s much more complicated. According to leaker the script, written by Mike Flanagan, is finished, and the film is expected to be one of the next releases after ‘Supergirl,’ with plans to begin shooting in the spring.
Flanagan wrote the Clayface script but will not direct it due to scheduling conflicts with his ‘Exorcist’ film.
Mike Flanagan, known for his horror work like ‘The Midnight Club,’ ‘Doctor Sleep,’ and ‘The Haunting of Hill House’, previously confirmed he pitched a Clayface movie.
Re: CLAYFACE – the news today is entirely speculative. When or if something like that ever becomes real, I promise I’ll tell you guys. :),”
The insider also stated the movie will likely be a part of the DCU. As far as the role of Clayface goes, the most likely candidate for it is Alan Tudyk. But once again, nothing has been confirmed so far, even the movie.
