The Mandalorian is undoubtedly the best Star Wars series to date. Created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, it became a huge hit worldwide thanks to its great story, casting, and loyalty to the original Star Wars lore. The series is currently on a break, with a sequel movie in the works.

While Mando and Grogu are the main focus, one of the standout secondary characters is Greef Karga, whose character development is exceptional. Sadly, Karga’s story will come to an end as the actor Carl Weathers, who played him, passed away on February 2, 2024.

Although there’s a chance Karga could be recast, it doesn’t seem like Lucasfilm plans to do so. The Mandalorian has just released a special featurette in honor of Carl Weathers, which will be included in the series’ upcoming home media releases.

The Mandalorian first premiered in 2019, and since then, three seasons have been released. The first two seasons were made available on Ultra HD Blu-ray and Blu-ray on December 12, 2023, featuring special Steelbook packaging, concept art cards, and exclusive bonus features.

Now, Disney is continuing this trend, with the Ultra HD Blu-ray of Season 3 set to release on December 3, 2024.

The bonus content for the home release includes “Honoring the Magistrate: A Tribute to Carl Weathers,” “Galactic Legacy: The Creatures and Droids of The Mandalorian,” and “Forging the Covert: Part Three.”

One of the highlights is a special featurette dedicated to Carl Weathers, which will be included in the third season’s home release. Collider has managed to get a preview of the video, which you can check out on their website.

Fans who buy the home releases will get to enjoy all the bonus clips included, which is something they’ve been looking forward to for a while. Many fans have wanted Disney to release home versions of its streaming shows for years, so the upcoming release has them excited and happy.

As for the future of the series, we know that a sequel movie, The Mandalorian and Grogu, is set to release on May 22, 2026. There hasn’t been any announcement about a fourth season yet, and no one is talking about it right now. However, it’s clear that there will be more after the movie, though it’s uncertain whether it will be another movie or a new season.
