Superman & Lois’ finale is behind us. The show wrapped up with 4 seasons in total bringing to an end the journey of our main cast and the Arrowverse in general. The series primarily focused on Superman, Lois, and their family Jordan and Jonathan, two Superboys.

In the finale, Jonathan and Jordan finally get their own suits, but if you’ve been following the show regularly you know that Alex Garfin who portrayed Jordan on screen, had powers for much longer but for some reason, the actor did not have his own super suit until the very last installment in the show. Garfin was usually seen in his black improved “suit” which was designed only to hide his identity.

Having his own suit was a welcome change. In an interview with Screen Rant, Garfin talked about the experience of filming this moment and the funny surprises that happened during the process.

Garfin shared a funny moment from filming where he had to wear a tight black leotard, which exposed his whole body, and a harness that awkwardly latched around his crotch to simulate flying. He joked about having “no modesty left” while walking around like that, especially since executives from Los Angeles were visiting that day.

He laughed about the situation, hoping it would look good on camera despite the awkwardness.

Well, you were watching something funny! Basically, they had me in all black leotard, like a black skin suit, all the way up and down. So you could see every bit of my skin. Then they had you in a harness to fly, and the harness would latch right around your crotch area, thereby lifting your crotch out to the world.

And then that was the day while the executives showed up from Los Angeles! [laughs] So I’m walking out there making jokes with people, like, ‘Hey! I have no modesty left. I have no modesty left whatsoever. This is what they’re doing to me.’ And then, of course, the executives are right there, and I’m like, ‘Oh my God!’ I’m like walking by them – ridiculous, I hope it looks cool on camera, though.

Garfin explained that the Superboys’ superhero suits shown in concept art were created as a proof of concept, in case the show continued beyond season 4. He mentioned that instead of making the suits for real, the production decided to digitally add them, which was cheaper.

Garfin also shared his excitement about finally seeing himself in the suit with the House of El crest after all these years, reflecting on how he auditioned for the role when he was 16 and will now see it at 21.

Yeah, that was a proof of concept. I’m pretty sure of what these suits would look like for the last couple frames. I mean, I don’t think it was ever really a debate to build the ones for real. There was for another version of the show that we’ll get into on another interview with you when I can speak about a little more freely.

But by the time it came to Michael and I are both doing it towards the end of season 4, they were pretty sure they were just gonna digi it all on us.

It’s a lot cheaper that way. So when I watch the finale, which will actually be a week after everyone else watches it, because we’re doing a little screening in LA and I’m going to wait till then to see it, I’m going to finally see myself with the crest after all this time. I did my first audition for this role when I just turned 16, and now I will see it after I’m 21, isn’t that crazy?
