This is why, according to Gunn, no project will be approved until the script or teleplay meets his high standards, even if it leads to delays. ‘Booster Gold‘ is the most important project in this discussion, as Horowitz specifically asked about the show. While we still don’t know if Kumail Nanjiani will play the lead role, we do know the series is in development.

The script is still being worked on, and as Gunn mentioned, they’re not quite there yet. Things are moving forward, but they still need to deliver a solid script before the project can be officially greenlit.

The same situation applies to the upcoming Waller series, which will dive deeper into Viola Davis’ iconic character. It’s in the works, but the script isn’t finished yet, so Gunn is waiting before giving it the green light.
