The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5, 2025, and with less than a month to go, the nominations are being announced. We’re excited to share that one of the best miniseries of the year has received a major nomination!

We’re talking about Max’s The Penguin, which has won over both fans and critics. It’s now considered one of the best shows of the year and a top pick in its genre.

The Penguin has been nominated for Best Limited or Anthology Series or Television Film, confirming its status as a miniseries. While it’s a strong contender, the competition is tough.

Before we dive into the analysis, here’s the complete list of nominees:

As you can see, this year’s competition will be fierce, with almost every show on the list having a strong chance of winning. Baby Reindeer was a hit on Netflix and sparked a lot of controversy for its portrayal of the darker side of the entertainment industry, which also led to it influencing many people.

Next, we have the popular Monsters series, which, despite being another adaptation of the Menendez case, grabbed a lot of attention and is also a strong contender. Ripley, another major Netflix series, showcased the gripping story of Thomas Ripley and highlighted Andrew Scott’s incredible performance. The show received widespread praise, making it a top contender.

Finally, we have True Detective: Night Country, a series that critics loved but divided fans even more than the controversial second season. Despite the mixed reactions, we shouldn’t count it out just yet.

While The Penguin and Ripley seem like the strongest contenders on this list, anything can happen in this category.

Additionally, we can confirm that the series earned another nomination this year, as Cristin Milioti was nominated for Best Performance in a Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television for her role as Sofia Falcone, which impressed nearly everyone. Colin Farrell also managed to score a nomination.

Milioti will face strong competition, as she’s up against Cate Blanchett (Disclaimer), Jodie Foster (True Detective: Night Country), Sofía Vergara (Griselda), Naomi Watts (Feud: Capote vs. The Swans), and Kate Winslet (The Regime).

The ceremony in early January is sure to be exciting, so be sure to stay tuned for all the updates. We’ll keep you informed, as always!
