‘Inside Out 2’ and ‘The Wild Robot’ Lead the Race for Best Animated Feature at the Golden Globes

The 82nd Golden Globe Awards will take place on January 5, 2025, and with the ceremony coming up soon, the nominations are being revealed. We’re excited to share that the Best Animated Feature category is shaping up to be very competitive this year!

Animated films usually only compete in this category, unlike live-action films that have more chances to be nominated in other categories. This makes the competition even tougher, and the two biggest contenders this year are Inside Out 2 and The Wild Robot, which we’ll dive into in this report.

Inside Out 2 is the biggest box office hit of 2025, making an amazing $1.699 billion, and has been praised by critics, making it a strong contender for awards this year. However, it’s not the only movie in the running.

The Wild Robot also impressed audiences and critics, and while it didn’t make as much money, many consider it a top contender for animated film of the year. Another strong competitor is Flow, a movie that has captured the hearts of fans and critics with its compelling story and impressive production, making it a potential dark horse this awards season.

Another surprise nominee is the indie film Memoir of a Snail, which has impressed many. We also have the return of Wallace and Gromit, a fun movie that brought back nostalgia and was a great film on its own.
