‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is one of the most exciting upcoming Marvel movies. It’s the first time the new Avengers team will come together after the Infinity Saga, and they’ll take on the iconic villain Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr.
But RDJ isn’t the only big star returning. According to Variety, Chris Evans will also appear in the movie, the twist is, that his role is currently unknown and unconfirmed by Marvel Studios.
Still, this is why we have industry insiders. On the latest issue of ‘The Hot Mic’ podcast with John Rocha, notable industry insider, Jeff Sneider revealed that Evans will return as Nomad.
I’ve heard who the character is…I was having the conversation today, and someone mentioned it… Nomad.

Keep in mind that this information wasn’t confirmed by Marvel Studios so it’s just a rumor at this point and will most likely stay a rumor until it is either debunked or confirmed by the movie itself.
Nomad is an alternate identity Steve Rogers takes in the 1974 comic Captain America #180. In this story, he gives up being Captain America after losing faith in the U.S. government and becomes a hero with no allegiance to any country.
A version of Nomad was loosely shown in ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ when Steve Rogers was on the run with Sam Wilson and Natasha Romanoff. Co-director Joe Russo explained that while Rogers wasn’t exactly Nomad, he captured “the spirit of that character.”
We previously developed several theories of our own that Evans could return as an alternate version, or even Beyonder, taking into account that this powerful character is vital to Doomsday and Secret Wars, and at one point he took Steve Rogers’ likeness to roam the Earth.
