Before Disney+ expanded the MCU, Netflix created its own superhero universe known as The Defenders Saga, which included shows like Jessica Jones. The series focused on the complex and flawed anti-hero Jessica Jones.
Fans have long debated whether The Defenders Saga is part of the MCU. Recent projects like Echo and Daredevil: Born Again hint that it might be, though the connection remains uncertain until the upcoming revival.
With Charlie Cox’s Daredevil being reintroduced into the MCU, rumors are swirling that Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Danny Rand could also make a comeback.
At this year’s D23 in Brazil, Marvel TV & Animation Head Brad Winderbaum was asked which character’s story he’d like to see continue in the MCU. Without hesitation, he said, “Jessica Jones.”
Fans were thrilled by his response, and the news reached Krysten Ritter too. She shared her excitement and encouraged Winderbaum to make it happen.
Brad Winderbaum said that? That’s really exciting to hear. Isn’t that the guy who makes the call? Come on, Brad! Let’s get it going. Let’s do it. I’ll be ready.
This isn’t the first time Ritter has hinted at her readiness to return. Every few months, she shares throwbacks to her Jessica Jones days on social media, sparking fresh rumors of a revival. This time, with a Marvel executive expressing interest, there’s a glimmer of hope.
