‘Agatha All Along’ is the latest release in the MCU. The show stood out by focusing on the magical and occult side of the universe, using lesser-known characters.
Even though some fans expected backlash or boycotts because of the show’s diversity and inclusion themes, this didn’t happen. The show proved that as long as the story is good, those issues don’t matter.
‘Agatha All Along’ finished with strong reviews, and good viewership, and was the most affordable MCU production to date, thanks to its use of practical sets and effects. It also had the highest viewer retention rate of all MCU shows, which bodes well for its future.
On several instances, the studio execs confirmed that the show was a success, now Alan Bergman, Walt Disney Studios Co-Chairman, confirmed that the show also managed to draw in a significant number of female fans. While Marvel movies have mainly appealed to men, ‘Agatha’ allowed them to reach a larger female audience.
“Agatha was certainly a big win for us, and widened out the audience that watches the Marvel titles. The movies have primarily been more male than female, and Agatha gave us an opportunity to try to hit the female audience more as well.”

The show had a strong start, attracting 9.3 million views globally in its first seven days and becoming the most-watched show on Disney+ during that time. It also ranked in the top 10 in 56 countries and had the highest audience retention rate of any Marvel series. The series maintained impressive viewership, with millions of minutes watched and its finale drawing 3.9 million views on its first day.
The show also managed to land on the Nielsen Top 10 charts twice during its run, something that even critically acclaimed rival ‘The Penguin’ failed to do.
