Industry Insider Reveals What’s in Store for Knull When He Joins the MCU

Knull, one of the most terrifying Marvel villains, recently debuted in live-action in Venom: The Last Dance. The announcement was highly polarizing, with some fans praising his inclusion in the movie, while others criticized the decision to introduce him in the final installment of the trilogy.
Knull was voiced by Andy Serkis, but the character left much to be desired. The villain didn’t play an active role in the movie, as writer-director Kelly Marcel explained that this was just the beginning for Knull, and he is expected to appear (presumably) in future installments.
Knull is expected to appear in Spider-Man 4, and it remains to be seen how the MCU will handle him.
Even before Venom 3 was released, fans were concerned that Knull would have to be significantly nerfed, as no character in the SSU was close to Knull’s potential power.
Knull is an incredibly powerful cosmic being who created the symbiotes, including Venom. He has control over darkness and can manipulate it to create weapons and creatures, and even control minds. Knull is so strong that he can take on entire armies, defeat gods, and even battle beings like the Celestials and Thor.
In short, Knull is a literal god, which is always problematic to adapt, as characters like that are often either ignored or significantly nerfed. If Alex Perez, a notable industry insider, is to be believed, Knull will have to be nerfed for his MCU appearance as well.
During his recent December Discord AMA, Perez was asked if powerful Avengers like Thor, Captain Marvel, and Scarlet Witch would appear in a story featuring Knull, considering Knull’s strength in the comics surpasses that of major characters like Dr. Doom, Thanos, Kang, and even the Celestials.
Perez responded that he thinks the creators will reduce Knull’s power level in the story by explaining that he’s not fully strong yet, as he has just escaped from Klyntar (the planet of the symbiotes). This would make Knull less powerful than he is in the comics.
Alex Perez: “I expect them to nerf Knull by saying he’s less powerful because he just got out of Klyntar and isn’t at 100% power yet.”
This is actually a good strategy since dealing with Knull is usually a collective effort and would require almost every single superhero currently active in the MCU, similar to the level of Endgame.
Following the release of Kraven the Hunter, the future of the SSU remains under question, as some reports state that Sony is unwilling to invest more money in unsuccessful live-action projects.
If this is true, the MCU may be the only hope for Knull to continue his story.
