Marvel has a packed slate of projects in the works for the coming years, with a noticeable shift toward expanding its animated offerings. The MCU’s animation journey began with the release of ‘What If…?’ Season 1, and although the show is currently airing its final season, this is just the beginning of Marvel’s animated content.
The success of ‘X-Men ’97’ has only strengthened Marvel’s commitment to animation, paving the way for more animated series. In 2025, fans can look forward to ‘Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man,’ ‘Eyes of Wakanda,’ and ‘Marvel Zombies.’ Additionally, ‘X-Men ’97’ will return with Seasons 2 and 3 in development.
Now, industry insider Daniel Richtman reports that Marvel is working on three more animated projects that will be part of the MCU.
This isn’t surprising, as Brad Winderbaum teased yesterday that Marvel Studios might be working on a theatrical animated movie. In the past, we’ve also reported rumors about the studio considering an animated ‘X-Men ’97’ movie for theaters.
There’s also the anime-inspired show focused on cosmic beings, which was discussed nearly a year ago. However, we haven’t received any updates on that project, and we’re beginning to wonder if it’s still in development.
Earlier this year, we also reported that Marvel might be looking into reviving older animated series following the success of ‘X-Men ’97,’ but those remain unconfirmed rumors.
It seems the future of the MCU could be in animated content—let’s just hope they prioritize quality over quantity. Have something to add? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
