Celebrate Black History Month with Stunning Marvel Variant Covers Featuring Black Panther, Storm, and More Icons

This February, Marvel Comics is celebrating Black History Month in a big way! Alongside the release of Storm: Lifedream, a special one-shot honoring one of Marvel’s most iconic characters, fans can look forward to two exciting collections of variant covers.
These collections include the Star Wars Black History Month Variant Covers, showcasing Black heroes from a galaxy far, far away, and the Black History Month Variant Covers, highlighting some of Marvel’s most beloved Black superheroes
Marvel has enlisted talented artists Chris Allen, Taurin Clarke, Ken Lashley, and Alitha Martinez to bring these covers to life. These artists have crafted stunning depictions of fan-favorite characters like Black Panther and Captain America, as well as newer faces like Gold Tiger.
Here’s a closer look at the eight heroes featured this year and where you can find their special covers:
1. Black Panther
The King of Wakanda and legendary superhero continues to lead the charge in the Marvel Universe. T’Challa is currently front and center in Jed MacKay and Farid Karami’s thrilling run of Avengers.
2. Captain America (Sam Wilson)
Sam Wilson, the high-flying Captain America, recently launched into an exciting new adventure in Sam Wilson, Captain America, written by Evan Narcisse, Greg Pak, and drawn by Eder Messias.
3. Frenzy
Once a villain, Frenzy now uses her incredible strength to fight for good. She’s a key member of the government-backed mutant team in X-Factor by Mark Russell and Robert Quinn.
4. Gold Tiger
This mysterious new Wakandan hero made their debut in New Champions by Steve Foxe and Ivan Fiorelli. Keep an eye on this exciting addition to the Marvel roster!
5. Power Man (Future Luke Cage)
A version of Luke Cage from the far future brings an awe-inspiring set of powers to the present Marvel Universe. Catch his debut in Power Man: Timeless, crafted by Collin Kelly, Jackson Lanzing, and Bernard Chang.
6. Spider-Man (Miles Morales)
Brooklyn’s favorite web-slinger, Miles Morales, continues to thrill fans in his ongoing series by Cody Ziglar and Luigi Zagaria. This year, Miles will face Deadpool in the highly anticipated “Pools of Blood” crossover.
7. Storm
Storm, one of Marvel’s most groundbreaking characters, celebrates 50 years of stories in 2024. The powerful mutant currently stars in her own series by Murewa Ayodele and Lucas Werneck and is also a key player in the Avengers.
8. Temper
This young mutant, with the ability to control temperature, has recently joined the flagship X-Men team under Cyclops’ leadership. Temper’s story continues in X-Men by Jed MacKay and Ryan Stegman.
