‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2 Is Coming: Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi Are Back, Jung Ji-hoon Joins the Cast
The hit Korean boxing drama Bloodhounds is officially coming back for a second season, bringing even more action and intensity. The series will see Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi reprising their roles as Gun-woo and Woo-jin, the fearless boxing duo who captivated audiences in the first season.
This time, the stakes are higher as they face off against a global underground boxing league led by Baek-jeong, portrayed by Jung Ji-hoon—better known as Rain—marking his first villain role in over two decades.
The first season of Bloodhounds, based on Jeong Chan’s popular Naver webtoon, was a huge success, ranking in Netflix’s Top 10 across 83 countries after its June 2023 release. It followed the journey of two young men who stepped into a dangerous world to take down a ruthless loan shark ring. Fans were drawn to the friendship and fighting spirit of Gun-woo, a boxer driven by justice, and Woo-jin, his bold and loyal ally.
Season 2 promises to dive even deeper into their story. Woo Do-hwan returns as Gun-woo, the boxer with a strong moral compass, while Lee Sang-yi once again portrays Woo-jin, his brave and steadfast friend. Together, they’ll take on the dark and perilous world of illegal boxing leagues. Rain’s portrayal of Baek-jeong adds a fresh twist as he uses his power and cunning to drag the pair into his underground empire.
Excitement for the new season has already started building. On January 16, the cast gathered for the first script reading session, where Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi showcased their chemistry, while Rain immersed himself in his villainous character. The trio posed together for photos, giving fans a sneak peek of the energy and tension to come.
Director Kim Joo-hwan is returning to lead the second season, with production handled by Studio N, Seven O Six, and Ghost Studio. Fans can look forward to another gripping tale of brotherhood, loyalty, and high-stakes action.
