‘Squid Game’ Just Got Gayer as New Episode of ‘I Like To Watch’ Drops
‘I Like to Watch’ is a web series that started in 2019, hosted by drag queens Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova. Created by Netflix, the show streams on their YouTube channel. In each episode, Trixie and Katya watch and react to Netflix Originals and other movies available on Netflix.
The first season ran from November 21, 2019, to March 21, 2020. The second season, filmed at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, began on May 23, 2020. By the third season, the duo returned to filming together in person, first at home and later on a new set, with the season starting on February 20, 2021.
The series has received awards, including a People’s Voice Webby Award in 2022 and a Bronze Anthem Award in 2023 for promoting Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
Critics loved ‘I Like to Watch’ for its fun mix of humor, chaos, and boldness, with one review calling it “intoxicatingly entertaining.” The ‘New York Times’ compared the show to ‘Gogglebox’ but with extra flair, calling it a light and glamorous escape from typical reality TV drama.
Now Trixie & Katya are back, and the first 2025 episode is dedicated to reviewing ‘Squid Game’ Season 2.
You can expect a lot of cheeky humor, and details you may have missed in the show, and naturally, Trixie & Katya couldn’t help but comment on the current political situation in their usual dry (but hilarious) way.
One weird thing however is that the duo did not comment on Cho Hyun-ju (Player 120) portrayed by Park Sung-hoon, who is notably trans in the show. This is more likely something that Netflix decided to omit from the commentary due to the actor’s real-life controversy that already cost him one upcoming role.
