Popcorn Buckets and Drink Holders Take Over with ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ – The Trend Continues in 2025!
The “popcorn bucket craze” is a fun trend where movie theaters offer specially designed, themed popcorn buckets to make the cinema experience more exciting and attract customers.
This trend really took off in 2019 with AMC’s R2-D2 popcorn bucket for ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,’ which sold out fast and became a game-changer for collectible movie merchandise.
By 2024, the craze had grown even bigger, with new and creative designs, like a sandworm-shaped bucket for ‘Dune: Part Two,’ which quickly went viral. Other popular themed buckets included ones for ‘Deadpool & Wolverine,’ ‘Venom: The Last Dance,’ and ‘Gladiator II,’ which featured a cool Colosseum design.
These specially made buckets aren’t just about selling snacks—they’re also a way for moviegoers to take home a piece of the movie experience, making their visits to the theater more memorable. The trend has turned out to be very profitable for theaters, with some rare buckets even being resold for high prices on the secondary market.
Since the release of ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ is getting closer social media is already being flooded with cool designs. From shield buckets to helmet buckets, seemingly the only problem is that there’s is not enough of them for everyone:
These are just some of the designs, it’s hard to gather them all taking into account that designs are region-specific. Despite looking awesome, plenty of fans warn about the usage of cheap plastics in creating them.
