Patti LuPone Confirms ‘Agatha All Along’ Won’t Get a Season 2 & It’s Due to a Very Good Reason
Even though Agatha All Along has ended, fans are still talking about the series and everything it left behind. From its surprising beginning to its complex storyline and a conclusion that worked for most of the characters, it’s been a memorable journey, and the show definitely deserves praise.
After Agatha kisses Lady Death, she becomes a ghost and decides to stay with Billy as a mentor, opening up many possibilities for the future, though that future remains uncertain.
There’s still confusion about whether the series was just a limited miniseries or the start of something bigger. Some reports say it was a one-time series, with Agatha returning in another project, while new rumors suggest there could be more.
Now Patti LuPone managed to debunk all the rumors and speculations related to the second season of the show. In short, there won’t be one because Jac Schaeffer doesn’t want to make it, similar to the situation related to ‘WandaVision,’ another hit series that fans wanted to see continue.
LuPone shared that showrunner Jac Schaeffer told her ahead of time that her character, Lilia Calderu, would die, despite LuPone hoping for more.
There won’t be one, Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die, ‘But I wanted a second season.’
She explained that Schaeffer doesn’t do second seasons, sharing that Schaeffer also declined a second season for ‘WandaVision’ due to the overwhelming amount of writing required. LuPone expressed her hope to work with Schaeffer again in the future, calling her “magic.”
[Schaffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons, she said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of Wanda Vision and I didn’t.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs and I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again because she’s magic.
