Jonathan Majors lost his dream role as MCU’s big villain Kang the Conqueror, but following several legal issues and subsequent sentencing, it seems that the actor is rebuilding his career step by step.

Majors plays Killian Maddox in the upcoming drama ‘Magazine Dreams.’ He is an amateur bodybuilder who struggles with loneliness and finding meaningful connections. The film, directed by Elijah Bynum, follows Killian’s intense drive to become a world-famous bodybuilder, even if it means pushing himself to dangerous extremes.

He believes that only by achieving something huge will he be remembered. As the story unfolds, Killian battles both his physical limitations and inner struggles, showing the lengths he’ll go to in his pursuit of recognition.

The film also stars Harrison Page as Killian’s sick grandfather, whom he takes care of, along with Haley Bennett, Taylour Paige, and bodybuilder Mike O’Hearn. It received positive reviews at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival, winning the U.S. Dramatic Special Jury Award, which led to a bidding war.

Eventually, Searchlight secured the distribution rights but later dropped the film. The movie was then delayed for almost a year after Jonathan Majors was convicted of domestic assault and harassment in 2023.

The movie is scheduled for release on March 21, 2025.
