Casting Is Officially Underway for Greta Gerwig’s Netflix ‘Narnia’ Movie Series
The new Narnia film series is moving forward, as we can confirm that the casting for the upcoming series is officially underway!
A copy of the casting call for Greta Gerwig’s upcoming adaptation has appeared online. UK casting agencies and drama schools received it within the past week, and callbacks for roles have already started.
The production is looking for two kids, a boy and a girl, around 10 or 11 years old. The description doesn’t say anything about their height, hair color, or other physical traits. Filming and rehearsals will happen in the UK from June to Christmas 2025.
There’s also something curious about the casting notice. A role labeled ‘Frannie’ has appeared, though this is likely a placeholder name.
The film’s casting director is Nina Gold, who also worked on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010). She’s up for a BAFTA this year for Best Casting, which means Netflix is bringing in some serious talent.
A lot of fans believe The Magician’s Nephew could be the first book Gerwig adapts. The ages mentioned in the casting call match Digory and Polly from that story, but Netflix hasn’t confirmed anything yet, so we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out.
