‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ is one of the most anticipated movies in the MCU, set to release on July 25, 2025. Based on set leaks, everything looks promising so far.

The movie will take place in an alternate reality where the Fantastic Four are already an established team. It’s also expected to feature some of their most famous villains.

The cast for First Steps includes Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm, with Moss-Bachrach using CGI and performance capture for his role.

Julia Garner will play Shalla-Bal, also known as the MCU’s Silver Surfer, while Ralph Ineson will portray Galactus, one of Marvel’s most powerful villains (depending on how you see him). Paul Walter Hauser, John Malkovich, and Natasha Lyonne have been cast in undisclosed roles, and Mole Man is also expected to appear.

As we’re slowly gearing up for the release of the first trailer which is set to be revealed to the public at 7 AM EST, some details regarding the trailer have leaked. Daniel Richtman, a popular industry insider described the trailer on his Private Patreon, and here is what to expect:

According to Richtman, The ‘Fantastic Four: First Steps’ trailer starts in a classic 4:3 aspect ratio but expands into a modern cinematic look with a retro-futuristic style. It’s set in a different universe, not the MCU.

The trailer shows Sue turning invisible, Johnny igniting into “Flame On,” and Ben in both human and rock form, with Johnny also floating in space. While Franklin Richards and Silver Surfer are absent, Galactus is revealed as the main threat, and the Fantastic Four must come together to stop him.

Here is his complete description:

The trailer is around the 1:43 mark, it opens in a 4:3 aspect ratio but as the scene unfolds, the frame gradually expands to a more modern cinematic look. While the visuals are sleek and contemporary, the production design has a distinct retro-futuristic aesthetic as we saw from the SDCC footage. This is clearly not the MCU but a different universe.

We get a glimpse of the team in action: Sue Storm using her powers and flickers between visible and invisible as she clings to Reed Richards. We see Johnny Storm ignites into his full “Flame On” form. We also see Johnny in human form, drifts in space. Ben Grimm appears both in his human and rock forms.

No Franklin Richards or the Silver Surfer in this trailer but we do get to see Galactus. We get a sense of the story that the Fantastic Four coming together to stop him.

Everything checks out when it comes to our expectations, and we certainly won’t wait long to verify this leak.
