Exciting news for Pokémon fans! A brand-new animated project titled Dragonite and the Postman has been officially announced. The special animation will premiere on February 27 and will be available to watch for free on YouTube.

The animation is being created by CoMix Wave Films, the same renowned studio behind stunning films like Your Name and Suzume. This means fans can expect beautiful animation and heartfelt storytelling. This animation will be directed by Taku Kimura from Studio Lemon.

The details of the plot are still under wraps but fans will be able to catch it on Pokémon official YouTube Channel.

The story follows Hana, a young girl who dreams of being a mail carrier, as she embarks on an adventure with her partner Fuecoco to deliver an unaddressed letter sent by a boy named Rio for his father’s birthday. The theme song, “Paper Airplane,” is performed by suis from Yorushika, with music composed by Evan Call (Violet Evergarden, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End).

Keep in mind that February 27th is also Pokémon Day so we can expect plenty of news and announcements.
