Showrunner Teases that the Violence in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Is Going “Way Up”
When Netflix’s Daredevil first hit in 2015, it stood out for its serious take on Marvel’s blind vigilante. The show dove deep into Matt Murdock’s life, his struggles, and his Hell’s Kitchen background. It was also known for some intense fight scenes, including that famous uncut hallway brawl.
And it wasn’t shy about showing gritty, bloody violence, which was much darker than the typical Marvel movie. Fans wondered if the Born Again series on Disney+ would soften that tone, but it looks like they were wrong.
According to Born Again showrunner Dario Scardapane, the violence in this new series is even more intense than what we saw on Netflix. He claims that this show pushes the limits of what Marvel and Disney would usually show. ‘There’s a moment in this that is just absolutely batshit,’ he says, hinting at a scene that far exceeds the brutality of previous episodes. ‘I don’t think there’s anything else even in the ballpark. There’s a moment in this that is just absolutely batshit, and way past anything Netflix ever did.’”’
As the series begins, Matt Murdock and Kingpin are forced into a temporary truce. But if you’ve watched the previous show, you know this peace won’t last. Scardapane teases that their relationship is more tense than ever, with a big confrontation right at the start. From there, expect a rollercoaster of conflict that takes us deeper into their dark dynamic.
In short, Born Again looks set to take Daredevil into even more dangerous and brutal territory than ever before. If you thought you’d seen it all with Kingpin smashing heads or deadly fight scenes, think again.
