Marvel and Disney are bringing another fun twist to classic superhero stories with their latest crossover. This time, Donald Duck is stepping into the role of Iron Man in Marvel & Disney: What If…? Donald Duck Became Iron Man #1, set to release in May.

This one-shot follows in the footsteps of previous Disney & Marvel What If…? issues, where Mickey and friends have reimagined legendary Marvel moments. This time, Donald takes center stage in a story inspired by Iron Man’s very first appearance in Tales of Suspense (1959) #39, originally created by Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, Don Heck, and Jack Kirby.

Written by Luca Barbieri and Steve Behling, with artwork from Donald Soffritti, this adventure blends the action of Iron Man with the humor and chaos of a classic Donald Duck tale. Fans can expect plenty of mischief as Donald uses his brains—and a high-tech suit—to take on trouble.

The story kicks off with Donald in the hands of the Beagle Boys, who force him to build a machine capable of cracking open Uncle Scrooge’s Money Bin. But Donald has other plans. Instead of following their orders, he creates a powerful suit of armor, turning himself into a web-footed superhero. Now, he must find a way to stop the Beagle Boys while also making it to his date with Daisy Duck.

With a mix of Marvel-style heroics and Disney’s signature charm, this one-shot promises to be a fun and unique addition to both universes.
