‘Your Forma’ Anime Releases New Promo Video, Reveals Cast Members and OP
Anime distributor REMOW recently revealed a new visual, additional cast members, and the first promotional video for the upcoming Your Forma anime. Based on the science-fiction crime novel series by Mareho Kikuishi and Tsubata Nozaki, the show will debut on TV Asahi’s new anime block in April. The video also gives us a preview of the opening theme song, ‘GRIDOUT’ by yama.
New cast members include Nao Tōyama as Bigga, Aya Endō as Totoki, Nobuhiko Okamoto as Fokine, Ayaka Nanase as Darya, Chiwa Saitō as Lexie, and Yuu Hayashi as Benno. Some previously announced cast members are Kana Hanazawa as Echika Hieda and Kenshō Ono as Harold W. Lucraft.
The story kicks off in 1992, following a viral encephalitis pandemic that leads to the creation of an invasive device called Your Forma. This device records everything a person experiences and stores it as data. Special detectives, called Electronic Investigators, use this information to solve major crimes. Echika Hieda, a talented young investigator, is paired with Harold, a humanoid android, to uncover dark secrets.
The anime is directed by Takaharu Ozaki (known for Girls’ Last Tour and Goblin Slayer) and produced by Geno Studio and Twin Engine. The music is composed by Tatsuya Katō, who worked on Love Live! Sunshine!! and Trigun Stampede. Kazuyuki Fudeyasu is handling the series composition, and Chikashi Kadekaru is designing the characters.
The light novel series started in 2021 and has six volumes, with the latest released in 2023. Yen Press is publishing the English translations. A manga adaptation ran from 2021 to 2023 in Young Ace magazine, and the third and final volume was released in December 2023. Yen Press will release the manga’s final volume in July 2024.
