Catherine Zeta-Jones Leads High-Stakes Revenge Thriller ‘Kill Jackie’ on Prime Video

Catherine Zeta-Jones will star in Kill Jackie (working title), a new revenge thriller series from Prime Video, Fremantle, and Steel Springs Pictures. Based on Nick Harkaway’s novel The Price You Pay, the series begins production in March.

Zeta-Jones will play Jackie Price, a woman who has lived a comfortable life for 20 years—traveling the world, selling fine art, and staying anonymous after escaping her dangerous past as an international drug dealer. But her life takes a deadly turn when she learns that a group of terrifying hitmen, called The Seven Demons, are after her.

She suspects someone from her past is behind it and decides to fight back, taking down each hitman before they can kill her. As she faces these killers, she uncovers dark secrets about herself that lead her to a surprising revelation.

Zeta-Jones, who also serves as an executive producer, expressed her excitement, saying, “I’m thrilled to be a part of ‘Kill Jackie’ both behind and in front of the camera. The opportunity to bring this multifaceted character to life and explore a female-driven plot that encompasses empowerment, identity, and redemption is something I’m looking forward to.”

The series will be filmed in several locations, including Bilbao, Lisbon, London, and Swansea. It will be available to stream on Prime Video in the U.K., Ireland, Netherlands, Turkey, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, and Canada. Fremantle will handle all other international sales, except in the U.S., where Steel Springs Pictures will take charge.

Prime Video U.K.’s head of TV, Hannah Blyth, said, “’Kill Jackie’ is a thrilling series and we are excited to be working with Catherine Zeta-Jones and the incredible creative team to bring this story to life. With its bold storytelling, striking visual style, and unexpected twists, the series is set to captivate Prime Video audiences internationally.”

The show was created and co-written by Conor Keane, with Damon Thomas (“Killing Eve”) directing and Tom Butterworth (“Gangs of London”) serving as writer and showrunner.

Butterworth shared his enthusiasm: “I loved Nick’s gonzo thriller of a book. Our ambition is to twist and expand his world into something equally funny, dark, crazed, and unique. Or die trying.”

The creative team also includes executive producers Peter Lawson and Jose Augustin Valdes for Steel Springs Pictures, Dante Di Loreto for Fremantle, and Butterworth, Thomas, and Jeffrey Levine. Production is being supervised by José Luis Escolar’s Deabru Kalea Filmeak in Bizkaia.
