‘Captain America and Volstagg’ #1 Preview: Steve Meets the Asgardian

J. Michael Strazcynski is taking a victory lap at Marvel Comics with a new series of one-shots that team up characters who rarely share the same page. In one of these issues, Captain America is paired with Volstagg, a surprising match that promises plenty of action.
In the pages, we saw Steve Rogers wearing a set of custom-crafted Asgardian armor. Now, a fully lettered preview is available, setting the stage for an exciting adventure between the two heroes.
The preview comes from JMS, with art by Bernard Chang, colors by Marcelo Maiolo, and lettering by Joe Caramagna.
The cover is by Terry and Rachel Dodson. Marvel’s official description of the book reads:
“AS VOLSTAGG RECRUITS THE SENTINEL OF LIBERTY! When a war breaks out in the Nine Realms, Volstagg of the Warriors Three turns to the only man skilled enough to end it: Steve Rogers, Captain America!” reads Marvel’s official description of Captain America & Volstagg #1. “JMS teams with visionary artist Bernard Chang for the second in a series of one-shots bringing unlikely Marvel characters together for tales unlike any other!”
Strazcynski, who recently wrapped up his run on Captain America’s solo title, kicked off this series of one-shots that pair characters who normally do not meet. Earlier on January 22, he paired Doctor Doom with Rocket Raccoon, bringing the monarch of Latveria together with the Guardians of the Galaxy’s irascible engineering genius.
Captain America & Volstagg #1 goes on sale February 26.
