‘Hawkeye’ Star Set To Return in ‘Daredevil: Born Again’
Tony Dalton is officially returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jack Duquesne, also known as The Swordsman. He will appear in two episodes of “Daredevil: Born Again” on Disney+.
Dalton first portrayed the character in the 2021 Disney+ series “Hawkeye.” Initially introduced as a wealthy aristocrat engaged to Eleanor Bishop, Duquesne appeared suspicious when he was framed for his uncle’s murder. However, the series finale revealed that Eleanor was the real culprit, and Jack ultimately helped Clint Barton and Kate Bishop take on the villains at Rockefeller Center.
Fans haven’t seen Duquesne since, but with Vincent D’Onofrio returning as Kingpin in “Born Again,” it makes sense for Dalton to be brought back into the mix.
“Daredevil: Born Again” marks the return of several familiar faces from the Netflix series, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye. Jon Bernthal is also reprising his role as Frank Castle, aka The Punisher. Additionally, Mohan Kapur will appear in the series as Yusuf Khan, Kamala Khan’s father, making him another MCU alum returning who didn’t originate from the Netflix series.
Dalton confirmed his involvement through an Instagram story, tagging the official “Daredevil” account and writing, “It’s on!”
While his exact role in the plot remains unclear, “Born Again” is expected to adapt the “Mayor Fisk” storyline from the comics, with Kingpin making a move for political power. Given Duquesne’s wealthy status in New York, it wouldn’t be surprising if his path crosses with Fisk’s in some way.
Before his role in the MCU, Dalton was best known for playing the menacing Lalo Salamanca in “Better Call Saul.” He will also star in the upcoming action thriller “Trap House” alongside Dave Bautista and Bobby Cannavale.
“Daredevil: Born Again” will premiere on Disney+ on March 4, with the first two episodes dropping that day. The season is set to have nine episodes, with another nine planned for a second season.
