‘Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun’ Season 2 Releases New Character Promo Video

Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun Season 2 is still ongoing and a new promo video that focuses on Shijima-san of the Art Room, one of the Seven Mysteries of Kamome Academy, has just been released. Kana Hanazawa voices this character in the series. The second season kicked off on January 12, with Crunchyroll streaming it in both English dub and sub formats.

The show’s direction has shifted this season, with Yōhei Fukui taking over as the main director from Masaomi Andō, who directed the first season. Some familiar faces are still involved, though, like Yasuhiro Nakanishi (series scripts) and Mayuka Itou (character design). Masayoshi Ōishi performs the opening theme ‘L’oN,’ and Akari Kitō sings the ending theme, ‘With a Wish.’

A short anime sequel based on the spinoff manga After-School Hanako-kun aired in October 2023. The anime, with the same cast and crew, has four episodes. The anime’s original run began in 2020 with 12 episodes, which were streamed on Funimation. The show has now returned with a fresh look in the second season.

The manga, created by Iro Aida, has been published by Yen Press. The story follows Nene Yashiro, a high school girl who goes searching for Hanako-san, a ghost who grants wishes. To her surprise, the Hanako she meets is a boy. The manga has been ongoing since 2014, and Aida also created the After-School spinoff series.

The first season of Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun premiered in January 2020, and its popularity has led to several anime projects, including the After-School spinoff, which debuted in October 2023.
