Brad Winderbaum Confirms ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Season 2 Will Release Next Year

Marvel Studios is moving full speed ahead with “Daredevil: Born Again” as production gears up for its second season. With Season 1 set to debut on Disney+ in just more than a week, executive producer Brad Winderbaum has confirmed that fans won’t have to wait long for the next installment. The cast and crew are expected to return to the New York City set in March to begin filming Season 2, with a planned release in 2026.
Winderbaum confirmed that the goal is to make “Daredevil: Born Again” an ongoing series with multiple seasons. “That is the plan. Season 2 will come out next year, and then hopefully Season 3 and season infinity after that,” he said.
He also highlighted how integral New York City is to the story. “I think this world is extremely rich, and there are many stories to be told on the streets of New York. It’s certainly something very fundamental to Marvel, going back to the earliest days of publishing with Stan and Jack and Steve and the original Marvel bullpen. It’s New York through New York, and the fact that we’re able to shoot here and tell a story about New York made by New Yorkers is just fundamental to the series.”
The revival is being spearheaded by showrunner Dario Scardapane, with Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, and others serving as executive producers. The series brings back several familiar faces, including Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin, Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/Punisher, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye.
Additionally, Tony Dalton will reprise his role as Jack Duquesne/The Swordsman, making his return after last appearing in “Hawkeye.”
Previously, Scardapane emphasized that bringing back Karen and Foggy was a top priority for him. “You can’t do this show without Karen and Foggy. They’re Matt’s family. They’re the heart of his world. You can’t take them out without explaining why, and if that explanation doesn’t ring true, don’t take them out,” he explained. “I was willing to lose a job over this one. Because Season 3 of the Netflix show ended with a dream, with the names on that napkin. If you don’t pay that off, you’re not giving your characters context.”
Originally, “Daredevil: Born Again” was planned as an 18-episode season, but Marvel Studios later restructured it into two nine-episode seasons. With Season 1 arriving in 2025, the follow-up is expected to hit Disney+ in 2026. The show’s schedule marks a shift in how Marvel approaches its Disney+ series, moving away from limited runs and focusing on multi-season storytelling.
Winderbaum also hinted at the possibility of other characters from Netflix’s Marvel series making an appearance in “Daredevil: Born Again.” While he didn’t confirm specifics, a recent rumor suggests that at least one of the Defenders—most likely Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones—could show up in Season 2.
The upcoming series follows Matt Murdock balancing his life as a lawyer while navigating a city under Wilson Fisk’s growing political influence. With new threats emerging and old rivalries reigniting, “Daredevil: Born Again” is shaping up to be a major addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
With filming set to begin soon, Marvel is wasting no time in keeping Daredevil’s story alive. What are your thoughts on the upcoming season? Let us know in the comments below!
