Helen Mirren Says ‘1923’ Cast Flocks to Harrison Ford: ‘He’s always so lovely to all the other actors’

Helen Mirren recently shared how much the male cast of 1923 admires Harrison Ford, often gathering around him on set just to enjoy his presence.
Ford and Mirren play the married couple Jacob and Cara Dutton in 1923, a Yellowstone spinoff created by Taylor Sheridan.
Mirren recently praised Ford’s friendly and down-to-earth personality, saying, “He’s always so lovely to all the other actors.” She explained that Ford’s natural charm draws people in. “Harrison is such a bloke. He’s what in England we call a bloke. He is a guy, and because he’s a bloke, all the other blokes absolutely love him, and quite rightfully.”
The cast often endures tough filming conditions, including freezing temperatures and uncomfortable chairs, but that doesn’t stop everyone from wanting to be near Ford. “The other guys just gather around Harrison because they just want to be in his company, I think,” Mirren said. As for her? “I tag along.”
Mirren also praised Ford’s dedication, noting that he’s not the type to disappear into his trailer between scenes. “Harrison is not like an ‘I’m going to my trailer’ person,” she shared. “I don’t think I ever knew him [or] remember him going, ever, to his trailer. We hang around on the set and we do our thing.”
Ford had equally kind words for Mirren, saying that she’s “what we used to call a broad — and there’s no disparagement in calling a dame a broad.” He explained, “It means that she’s a woman that has the bandwidth to hang with men — not just to be a lady with them, but to actually hang with them. She’s a real cool lady.”
