‘The White Lotus’ Accumulated 3.4M Viewers with Episode 2 of Season 3, a 40% Increase from the Season Premiere the Week Prior
HBO’s The White Lotus is seeing a major surge in viewership with its third season. The second episode, which aired Sunday night, pulled in 3.4 million viewers across HBO and Max, marking a 40% jump from the season premiere’s 2.4 million in Live+Same Day numbers. These figures combine Nielsen’s ratings for linear TV with Warner Bros. Discovery’s (WBD) internal streaming data.
The strong performance doesn’t stop there. According to WBD, the Season 3 premiere has now surpassed 10.2 million viewers in the U.S. within its first week. That’s nearly double the 5.3 million viewers that the Season 2 premiere had in the same time frame. On a global scale, the new season is outpacing its predecessor by an even larger margin.
With this momentum, The White Lotus is now being hailed as Max’s second biggest returning season ever—only House of the Dragon has debuted stronger. The second season of The White Lotus still holds the Live+Same Day record at 4.1 million viewers, but if this trend continues, Season 3 could soon surpass it.
This season takes viewers to a new location—Koh Samui, Thailand—following previous settings in Hawaii and Italy. Natasha Rothwell returns as Belinda Lindsey from Season 1, while the new cast includes Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, Leslie Bibb, Michelle Monaghan, Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Sarah Catherine Hook, and Sam Nivola. Mike White remains at the helm as the show’s creator and executive producer.
