NBC’s Suits LA had a slow start, drawing 2.6 million viewers for its Sunday night premiere. The spinoff of the hit series Suits ranked third among NBC’s new drama debuts this season.

Brilliant Minds led the way with 3.9 million viewers, followed by The Hunting Party with 3.1 million. Only Grosse Pointe Garden Society had a lower premiere, attracting 1.8 million viewers.

Suits LA struggled to hold onto its lead-in audience, keeping just 50% of the viewers from the Tom Hanks-narrated documentary The Americas, which averaged 5.2 million in its second hour. Meanwhile, CBS’s Watson won the timeslot with 4.7 million viewers.

The original Suits, which ended in 2019, became a streaming sensation in 2023 when it hit Netflix. It was the most-watched show of the year, setting multiple records, including 57.7 billion minutes streamed. However, Suits LA is only available on Peacock, meaning it may not get the same boost from Netflix’s massive audience.

The new series stars Stephen Amell as Ted Black, a former prosecutor who starts a new career as an entertainment lawyer but finds himself drawn back into criminal defense. The cast also includes Lex Scott Davis, Josh McDermitt, and Bryan Greenberg.

Suits creator Aaron Korsh returns as executive producer, alongside David Bartis, Doug Liman, and others. The series is produced by Universal Content Productions.
