After ‘Flow’s Epic and Deserved Win, Disney Is Now on a Record Winless Run at the Oscars

Disney has now gone three years in a row without winning the Best Animated Feature at the Academy Awards. This is the longest streak in the company’s history without taking home the trophy for that category.

They include Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio (Netflix), The Boy and the Heron (Ghibli) and this year’s winner Flow. While Disney still produces successful and beloved animated films, their recent absence from the winner’s circle shows the changing dynamics of the competition.
