Robert Kirkman On More ‘Invincible’ Spin-Offs: “No Plans Yet, But We’d Love To”
The Invincible series continues to grow in scope and scale, many are wondering if more spin-offs like Invincible Presents: Atom Eve could be in the works.
Robert Kirkman, the creator of Invincible, has expressed enthusiasm for exploring more stories within this universe. However, there are currently no confirmed plans for additional spin-offs. “We’d love to,” Kirkman said, “but right now, our main focus is making sure the seasons come out as regularly as possible.”
We’d love to. There’s plenty of potential to dig into the backstories of different characters, but right now, our main focus is making sure the seasons come out regularly as possible and we haven’t had many opportunities to indulge in any distractions. So, no plans currently, but we’d love to do more in the future.
The Atom Eve special gave fans a deeper look into one of the show’s most popular characters, proving that Invincible‘s world has plenty of rich backstories to explore. Many characters, including Powerplex, Tether Tyrant, and even the looming Sequid threat, could be prime candidates for future one-off episodes or spin-off series.
Kirkman and Racioppa are also keeping details about the final two episodes of Season 3 a secret, but they’ve promised that these episodes will be the biggest and most intense yet. Kirkman hinted that while these episodes will be massive, Season 4 will raise the stakes even further, expanding the show’s scale and making things even more exciting. He believes that by the end of Season 3, fans will have a clearer picture of what Invincible is truly capable of and will be even more eager for the future.
There’s a reason we’re keeping these last two episodes under wraps. They’re the biggest we’ve ever done, but there are things in Season Four that top them. The show will continue to expand, the scope will keep increasing, the stakes will keep increasing, there’s some really exciting stuff ahead. I’m very excited for people to see these last two episodes and I think by the end of Season Three, people will have a better understanding of what Invincible can be and be much more excited for the future.
Racioppa emphasized that these episodes will be some of the toughest challenges Mark has faced so far. The season finale will bring answers to long-running questions and push Mark to his limits, making it a rewarding and emotional payoff for fans who have followed his journey since Season 1. Both Kirkman and Racioppa are excited for viewers to finally see what they’ve been working on, promising a thrilling and satisfying conclusion to the season.
Mark has been on a journey since episode 1 of season 1 and these next couple of episodes are going to be some of his hardest, and they’re going to answer a lot of questions and put him to the test in ways that we’ve been building to through Season One and Season Two and Season Three up to this point so I think you’re going to find it very satisfying in a huge season finale and I hope that everyone loves it. I can’t wait for people to see these, we’ve been talking about it for a long time and were excited for people to see it.
For now, the showrunners are focused on delivering the best possible main series. But given the depth of the Invincible universe, it’s clear that the door is open for more character-focused stories in the future. Until then, fans can look forward to the epic conclusion of Season 3 and what lies ahead in Season 4.
