David Duchovny is taking on a new role—this time, as the host and producer of Secrets Declassified, a new documentary series for the History Channel. Best known for playing FBI agent Fox Mulder in The X-Files, Duchovny will now explore real-life government secrets that have been recently declassified.

The 10-part series was announced at the A+E Global Media event, and while it’s not officially described as a real-life X-Files, the concept feels very similar. The show will dive into “the government’s most secretive, strange, and mind-blowing activities that have been declassified throughout history.”

Duchovny shared his excitement for the project, saying:

I’ve always been drawn to explorations of the more complicated aspects of our lives, leaning into conversations that dig below the surface and unlock a more interesting story. I’m thrilled to be executive producing and hosting a new History Channel series that’s not afraid to go there. We’re telling the incredible stories of government secrets that have only recently come to light. This series proves that secrets can be uncovered, and mysteries can still be unraveled.

Each episode of Secrets Declassified will focus on a different mysterious event, with Duchovny speaking to experts about the latest evidence. Topics include the real-life CIA operation behind Argo and the long-standing conspiracy theories surrounding Area 51.

For fans of The X-Files, this show feels like a natural fit for Duchovny. With his history of chasing government secrets on-screen, it will be exciting to see him tackle real-world mysteries in Secrets Declassified.
