Musk Sharing Fake Rumor Results in Actress Ayo Edebiri Getting Death Threats Over 'Pirates of the Caribbean'

Elon Musk has proven that he is not the smartest guy in recent weeks and months, despite what he might think. And while he is very calculated and knows how to ignite a media scandal with his actions, he is also showing an alarming lack of care for the well-being of others.

The latest “victim” of Musk’s “anti-woke crusade” is Black actress Ayo Edebiri. And while Musk did not target her personally, she became a victim as the young actress received death threats over Musk sharing a fake casting rumor related to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

Namely, some time ago, Ayo Edebiri was rumored to become the new lead of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise at Disney. Following Johnny Depp’s scandal, the actor was removed from the franchise and Disney was supposedly considering a reboot with a female lead.

At one point, Margot Robbie was considered for the role, but later on, Edebiri appeared as a potential candidate. Musk, who obviously did not like that (you can guess thrice why), went to social media to state that “Disney sucks” because of that potential casting. What happened later? Well, the actress recently shared that on Instagram:

Whatever your political or ideological persuasions are, it remains a fact that you cannot – because of them – endanger the lives of other people. Such behavior is absolutely unacceptable and should be condemned immediately, which is why we’re voicing our support for Edebiri in hope that such incidents will be avoided in the future.
