‘Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2’ Gets a First Look with Preview and Covers

A massive clash is coming to comic book stores this summer. DC and Legendary Comics have teamed up for Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2, a seven-issue series that picks up after last year’s popular crossover.

The first issue will be available for preorder on March 21 and hits shelves on June 4. Writer Brian Buccellato and artist Christian Duce are back, joined by colorist Luis Guerrero, to deliver another round of epic battles between DC’s heroes and the Monsterverse Titans.

In this sequel, the story kicks off with Task Force X, led by Amanda Waller, working on a new project. They’re creating hybrid Titans they can control, claiming it’s to protect Earth from future monster attacks.

But the Justice League isn’t buying it. To stop Waller’s plan, they head to Legendary Earth, home of Godzilla and Kong. There, they’ll face dangers like the Hollow Earth and the two iconic Titans. The preview shows Kong isn’t thrilled to see them, and a powered-up King Shark is already trading blows with Godzilla.

The stakes get higher as DC’s heroes and villains gain Titan-sized upgrades for the fight. Readers will see “titanized” versions of familiar characters taking on Godzilla, Kong, and other Monsterverse creatures.

The series also brings back Col. Lee Shaw, a character from the 2014 graphic novel Godzilla: Awakening. Meanwhile, the Legion of Doom adds chaos by opening a portal to another dimension, letting loose even more monstrous threats.

The first issue’s main cover comes from Duce, with variant covers by artists Dan Mora, Alan Quah, Gabriel Hardman, John Giang, Kevin Maguire, and Carlos D’Anda. These covers feature intense scenes, like the Suicide Squad dodging Godzilla’s atomic breath and Green Lantern facing off against Godzilla and Ghidorah.

The original Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong hardcover, priced at $29.99, is still available. It follows the Legion of Doom unleashing Godzilla in Metropolis and Kong on Skull Island, forcing the Justice League to push them back.

Fans of the Monsterverse and DC can expect more action and surprises when Justice League vs. Godzilla vs. Kong 2 lands in June.
